How can I add folders or edit folder properties? What does the context menu of the folder list mean?
The context menu of the folder list is displayed differently for FolderCrypt and FolderMount. The differences are listed here:
My quick view, My Inbox and FolderCrypt
You can freely edit the folder structure of FolderCrypt and thus adapt it flexibly to your needs, there is no need to open an external editing window. Exceptions are the predefined folders or views such as "My quick view", "My inbox", "My PaperOffice documents", "Shared inbox" and "Shared PaperOffice documents". You cannot edit (rename) these folders or views, and you cannot change the icon either.
Context menu "My Inbox" and "My PaperOffice Documents", "Common Inbox" and "Common PaperOffice documents"
By clicking with the right mouse button on "My Inbox" etc. you open the context menu for the standard folder. You cannot remove these, but you can perform the following actions:
"Create new subfolder". By left-clicking with the left mouse button on the entry, you can create a new subfolder under the corresponding main folder (or "My Inbox" and "My PaperOffice Documents", "Common Inbox" and "Common PaperOffice documents" and define other properties for your new subfolder.
First enter the name for your new folder and, if necessary, add. a description or comment, which is shown under the folder name. This description also appears when you move the mouse over the existing folder in the folder tree.
Automatic contact linking: You can optionally save an automatic contact link. By clicking with the left mouse button in the field labeled “Select one or more contacts” you can select one or more contacts from your contact management and thus automatically connect them to the folder.
Release level: Specify here who can access the folder. Users below the approval level will never see this folder, not even in filter or search results. Newly added documents and subfolders are automatically given this approval level. The user settings are described in a separate Topic . For a clear presentation of who has access to the users and who does not, two tables are provided with the labels "Users with access" and "Users without access". You can see live who has access through the release level selection.
To lock folders specifically for users / user groups, use FolderLock under Settings -> User groups.
"Sort all sub-folders from A-Z". Left-click on the entry sorts all subsequent sub-folders according to A-Z.
"Start the import wizard for this folder". Left-clicking on the entry opens the import assistant, where you can specify further options, which are shown in a separate Topic .
"Automation and monitoring". Left-clicking on the entry opens the area of automations and monitoring, where you can add various monitoring, such as DropPage, DropMail, POP3 email or directory monitoring. You can also access this area by clicking on "Settings" and then "Automation and Monitoring". How you can add these is described in a separate Topic .
"Export". This function allows you to export your documents and folders out of PaperOffice at any time, so you always have the secure feeling and control over all your documents. Left-clicking on the entry opens further options.
1. You can export all documents from the currently selected main folder as only "PDF format" or "Original format".
2. Or from the currently selected main folder and all sub-folders:

Context menu of all other folders from the FolderCrypt area
The context menu of all other folders from the FolderCrypt area is clearly displayed and offers the following functions in addition to those already described above:
Folder properties: In this area you can change the folder properties you have already saved for the currently selected folder.
Folder Color: Select a color for your folder. This is how this color is displayed to the right of the symbol in the folder list.
Folder icon: Provide individual folders with colored symbols for a better overview or individual subject matter. So the icon you choose will replace the default one.
The same functions as described above apply to all further entries.
FolderMount
The PaperOffice folder structure supports a hybrid mode that combines the best of both worlds - data storage in the PaperOffice SQL database and data storage in the Windows file system through virtually integrated Windows folders. The context menu is displayed differently for both folder structures and has different functions.
So new folders and sub-folders can easily be added to both folder structures, this applies to "My PaperOffice Documents" as well as to "My Windows Documents". Folders and subfolders added under "My Windows Documents" are also automatically added to your file system.
Before you mount a folder in FolderMount, please read our technical requirements .
Include new Windows folder in PaperOffice: Left-clicking on the entry opens a new window. Now select a path to the Windows folder in the upper area, in which the original documents will be saved unencrypted.
Save the folder properties as well, scroll down and click on "Add new folder".
To disconnect the integrated folder, click on "Disconnect Windows folder from PaperOffice".
If you want the integrated folder to be displayed in Windows Explorer, select the entry "Open folder in Windows Explorer".
